Enlarged Meeting of Asia-Pacific Regional
Committee for Supporting Peaceful
Reunification of Korea Held

Pyongyang, May 7 (KCNA) -- An enlarged meeting of the Asia-Pacific Regional
Committee for Supporting Peaceful Reunification of Korea was held in Jakarta,
Indonesia on April 25 through video conferencing.
Present there were members of the Asia-Pacific Regional Committee for
Supporting Peaceful Reunification of Korea, organizations for friendship and
solidarity with the Korean people of different countries, personages of the
organizing committee of the International Festival in Praise of the Great Persons
of Mt Paektu, the president of the International People's Struggle Federation, etc.
The meeting discussed the issue of significantly celebrating the 70th anniversary
of the victory in the great Fatherland Liberation War and the 75th founding
anniversary of the DPRK.
Raymond Ferguson, director of the Secretariat of the regional committee, said in
his speech that it would highly praise the exploits of President Kim Il Sung and
intensify the movement for solidarity with the Korean people denouncing the U.S.
and its followers for making frantic efforts to ignite a new war on the Korean
peninsula on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the victory in the Fatherland
Liberation War and the 75th founding anniversary of the DPRK.
An appeal to the peace-loving people of the world was adopted at the meeting.
The appeal said:
Peace and security on the Korean peninsula and in Northeast Asia are being
reliably defended by the DPRK with tremendous military muscle recognized by
the world people.
We are convinced that the world progressive people will extend full support and
solidarity to the cause of the Korean people dashing forward for building an ideal
society of mankind, standing against the U.S. strategy for hegemony with the
might of single-minded unity and capabilities for self-defence. -0-
